Hi, I’m Charise.

The CEO and founder of The 297 Group, where we build systems that protect funding, strengthen compliance, and help mission-driven organizations grow with confidence.

I’ve spent more than 25 years supporting nonprofits, government agencies, and public-sector partners through complex funding requirements, contract management processes, and organizational development.

I know what funders look for because I’ve been one.

Earlier in my career, I helped scale a grantmaking process from $4 million to over $34 million in three years, designing the review, compliance, and reporting systems behind it.

Today, I lead organizations through the systems, structure, and discipline needed to remain contract-ready, audit-ready, accreditation-ready, and impact-ready year-round.

Full CEO Biography - Charise N. Liburd

Charise N. Liburd is the Founder and CEO of The 297 Group, a premium systems and compliance consultancy serving nonprofits, government agencies, and public-sector contractors. She is a Certified Nonprofit Professional with a Master’s in Public Administration, specializing in Nonprofit Management and Leadership.

With more than two decades of experience across funding, compliance, contract management, and organizational capacity-building, Charise has supported organizations ranging from small community-based nonprofits to international NGOs across Africa, Canada, the Middle East, and the United States.

She has served as a funder, program manager, trainer, speaker, and compliance strategist giving her a rare 360-degree perspective on what governments, funders, and agencies require to protect public dollars and ensure community impact.

Her expertise includes:

  • Accreditation preparation (including CARF)

  • Systems architecture & automation

  • Organizational development & leadership coaching

  • Impact measurement, KPI development, and storytelling

She is also the founder of Nonprofit Shaker University (NSU), a learning platform offering micro-courses, templates, and training for new and emerging nonprofit leaders.
